Suppligator’s verdict on the OACE AC1 trainers

With the AC1, OACE is taking an important next step and, for the first time, expanding its range to include its own trainer. After around a year of development, the result is a shoe that has been deliberately designed to combine gym and streetwear. This is precisely the idea behind the model: a versatile trainer that works equally well for training and everyday wear.

A key focus during development was the sole. It has been designed to be both comfortable and stable. The shoe is intended to feel comfortable the moment you put it on, whilst its wider construction ensures a secure footing. This makes the AC1 particularly well-suited to the gym and functional training – without being a classic running shoe. Instead, the model is intended as an all-rounder that can be worn in many different situations.

OACE also takes a clear approach to design. Visually, the AC1 draws inspiration from classic trainer silhouettes, but deliberately takes a slightly different path. Many well-known models have a relatively narrow fit. The AC1, by contrast, features a slightly wider and slightly ‘chunkier’ shape, giving it a more modern look and setting it apart from many other trainers. As a result, the shoe combines a sporty look with a strong lifestyle appeal.

It is precisely this combination that makes the AC1 particularly versatile. The trainer can be worn with gym outfits such as leggings or joggers, as well as with casual streetwear, such as wide-leg jeans or oversized pieces. This means it works in both worlds and perfectly complements the typical OACE style.

Another highlight of the launch is the collaboration with Snipes. The AC1 will not only be available online in the OACE shop, but also in ten selected Snipes branches across Germany. This demonstrates that the trainer has already generated considerable interest even during the development phase.

It is not just a new shoe, but the first footwear item in the range and thus the next step towards completing the OACE look from head to toe. You can use standard trainer sizes as a guide, e.g. Adidas. Our test pair is size 43 and fits just as well as shoes from other manufacturers in this size.
