– A rather crunchy “milk chocolate”-style coating with a sweet, caramel-nutty, slightly chewy cream underneath, which provides the strongest flavour note at times
– The filling itself is fudgy and moderately chewy, offering a nutty, slightly nougat-like but rather mild flavour
– After a short while, a vegetal or ‘earthy’ undertone emerges, which, however, evokes the classic sensation of ‘chewing on nuts for a while’ and picks up on the flavour of the hazelnuts, which are distributed rather sparingly throughout
– In the aftertaste, all the components remain fairly well-balanced on the tongue; nevertheless, one detects a slightly pungent flavour – similar to that of the over-concentrated CF Hazelnut Nougat Praliné – as well as a plant-based, lingering touch
– Reminiscent of a combination of the flavour of the vegan Hazelnut Nougat Praliné Protein (mixed into a cream) and gentle chocolatey-caramelly nuances
– Compared to the ESN
Vegan Designer Bar of the same name, it has a doughier rather than a cake-like texture; larger hazelnut pieces in the centre rather than small roasted slivers in the coating; a cream with a caramel-nutty note rather than a centre of nut nougat flavours; generally more plant-based and less sweet
– Nevertheless, a largely well-balanced combination – recommended for anyone looking for a vegan bar alternative or keen to try new varieties

– A sweet, melt-in-the-mouth ‘milk chocolate’-style coating with plenty of soy protein crispies embedded within, which contribute only a very subtle, earthy flavour
– The not-too-firm, doughy and, unfortunately, somewhat plant-based ‘beany’-tasting centre has a slightly spicy, cinnamon-like flavour, which, however, is only moderately harmonious and leaves a slightly bitter, lingering aftertaste on the tongue
– The cream layer beneath the coating is rich, sweet, cinnamon-flavoured and biscuit-like, with a slightly sandy, plant-based undertone; similar to the vegan Cinnalicious Protein mixed as a ‘whey drip’
– Overall, the sweet, cinnamon-spiced, Christmassy notes – apart from a sweet-bitter hint of cinnamon – are, unfortunately, almost as prominent as the plant-based base flavour, and thus offer few aromatic highlights
– It is only slightly reminiscent of classic speculoos due to the initial cinnamon-and-Christmas-like flair, but quickly gives way to a sort of ‘vegan protein dough’ with cinnamon and a gentle spiciness
– Best recommended as an alternative to classic protein bars for vegans – and anyone who fancies giving it a go –
