Outer coating of rather thin, delicately sweet milk chocolate, studded with crunchy pistachio pieces, which give the chocolate – which tends to take a back seat overall – a slightly nutty contrast
– The very soft, ‘mushy’ filling, with a tart-sweet yet comparatively mild pistachio flavour, provides a subtle balance to the intense centre
– The creamy centre, which initially has a rather tart, nutty flavour but soon becomes sweeter, is the aromatic highlight that overshadows everything else and is reminiscent of simply spooning up pistachio spread
– Compared to the ‘Designer Bar White Chocolate Pistachio’ – which uses milk chocolate – this version is sweeter overall in terms of the coating and, above all, the centre; the pistachio note is slightly less tart and nutty, but more intense and pure–
