– A mild, sweet mustard note dominates the flavour profile of this creamy, thick sauce.
– In the background, there is a recurring, subtle spicy aroma reminiscent of ‘biting into a mustard seed’, as well as light caramel- and malt-like flavours.
– The sweet-spicy ratio of 3:1 lingers on the palate, with both components present, as well as a barely perceptible artificial sweetness – which is only really noticeable when eaten on its own.
– Compared to the Light Gourmet Sauce (Creamy) Honey Mustard, it has slightly spicier notes, no hint of honey, but a caramel-like aroma in the aftertaste; strong associations with classic ‘sweet mustard’ due to the flavour components, with a slightly sweeter aftertaste and, in terms of consistency, mustard seeds rather than mustard grains.
