Designer Bar: Gingerbread 🍫🎄 –
A delicately sweet-and-bitter balanced, slightly crunchy, melt-in-the-mouth coating of full-bodied dark cocoa dark chocolate
– Enclosed within this are small, crunchy pieces of roasted almond, which bring a gentle nutty, caramelised aroma but are somewhat overshadowed overall
– The soft, doughy centre makes up the largest but mildest part, with gentle cocoa and nutty notes
– A liquid centre of intensely sweet, slightly artificially flavoured apricot cream dominates at times and blends with the flavour of the dark chocolate towards the end
– Reminiscent of classic gingerbread filled with jam, even though the typical spiced, cake-like element (cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg) is missing
– Overall, a very delicious interplay of dark chocolate, mild nutty, caramel-like and cocoa-like flavours, and sweet, fruity aromas
– Compared to last year’s version, it has a softer texture and a sweeter, slightly more artificial-tasting core filling, but the dark chocolate flavour is less pronounced
